General Conference Officers

Learn more about the officers of the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists.

While many Adventists use the word officer to describe all sorts of Church leadership positions, the Constitution of the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists defines the officers of the General Conference as "a president, vice presidents, a secretary, an undersecretary, associate secretaries, a treasurer/chief financial officer, an undertreasurer, and associate treasurers" (Art. IX, Sec. 1; Seventh-day Adventist Yearbook, 2019, 11, 2019, 11).

Executive officers are defined as "[t]he president, secretary, and treasurer/chief financial officer" (Art. IX, Sec. 2; Seventh-day Adventist Yearbook, 2019, 11, 2019, 11). These officers are the ones found on the lists we offer here. The dates of tenure on these lists indicate the beginning dates of the General Conference sessions involved, except where special elections have been held between sessions.
